The Basics of the Master Cleanser/Lemonade Diet

The overall purpose of any cleanse is detoxification and elimination of toxins and any congestion or bulk in the major organs of your body.  The Master Cleanse targets the kidneys and the digestive system, while purifying all glands and cells in your body.  The Master Cleanse also targets inflammation from hardened material around your joints and muscles.  Many people experience a relief in pressure and irritation on nerves, also caused by inflammation from toxic exposure.  The Master Cleanse is going to help you build a healthy blood stream, increasing oxygen flow to your heart and lungs, restoring energy and vibrancy. 

The Master Cleanse can be done anytime you are experiencing an acute or chronic illness or condition.  It is great for cleansing your digestive tract. If you have never done a cleanse for your intestines you could be holding as much as 20 pounds in stored, compacted waste! The Master Cleanse is also great for restoring energy, boosting your immune system, and balancing your pH system to create an alkaline system where disease cannot live.  The Master Cleanse can also be used before beginning a weight loss program.

The Recipe

2 Tbsp lemon or lime juice (approx ½ lemon/lime)

2 Tbsp genuine dark maple syrup (Grade B has the highest concentration of minerals)

1/10 tsp cayenne pepper

Purified or Distilled Water (you can drink cold or as a tea)

Combine the juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper in a 10 oz. glass and fill with water temperature of your choice.  Use fresh, organic lemons or limes only.  Pomegranate does carry pure lemon and lime juice with no additives.  However, juicing a fresh lemon or lime is optimal.

 

Drink from six to twelve glasses of the lemonade daily.  As you get hungry just have another glass of lemonade.  No other food should be taken during this time.  The Master Cleanse states that the lemonade is a complete balance of mineral and vitamins and should eliminate hunger pangs.  You can vary the amount of maple syrup, however do not every vary the amount of lemon or lime juice.

 

When coming off the cleanse, it is suggested that for the first and second days after your drink orange juice slowly throughout the day.  It may help to water the juice down so as not to shock your system.  On the third day you can begin to add raw fruits and vegetables to your diet. By the fourth day you can resume normal eating.
