Following family tradition as a fourth generation farmer in Lake County, Linda is not far from where her great-grandparents farmed in the Wentworth area. Linda and her husband Jimmy, who is also a fourth generation South Dakota farmer, raise vegetables in their gardens.
Linda's Gardens is a diverse and innovative endeavor that utilizes sustainable farming practices such as crop rotation and cover crops. Nearly three hundred different varieties of vegetables, herbs, fruits, berries, and flowers are raised at Linda's Gardens each year. New techniques involving row covers, mulches, and trap crops are being utilized and tested on a continual basis.
